Pumpkin Spice Bread recipe

Moist and delicious, this Pumpkin Spice Bread capture the tastes of the holiday season. Heavily spiced with cloves, allspice and cinnamon, this memorable and delicious bread will be a big hit at any holiday party or family dinner. Serve with cream cheese for a hearty snack, or slice up and pair with hot coffee or mulled wine.

Ingredients:

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 16 oz pureed pumpkin
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 c. water

Directions:

  1. Grease two 9in x 5in x 3in loaf pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In large bowl combine eggs, oil and sugar. Add pumpkin and mix well.

  3. In medium mixing bowl combine sugar, flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and spices.

  4. Slowly add dry ingredients to pumpkin mixture, alternating with water. Mix until completely combined and carefully pour batter into prepared loaf pans.

  5. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until braed tests done and a knife inserted into the middle of the bread comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack; cool completely.

  6. Slice and serve. Refrigerate in an airtight container up to 1 week.
