Popcorn Pumpkin Spiders recipe

A fun and festive dessert treat that adults and kids will love. Serve for a fun lunchtime treat or a hauntingly delicious after-dinner suprise. The ingredients are simple and you can whip up these holiday treats in mere minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 5 c. popped popcorn
  • 1 c. candy corn
  • 1 c. peanuts, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3 c. miniature marshmallows
  • red food coloring
  • yellow food coloring
  • 4 sticks red or black licorice, cut into thirds

Directions:

  1. Grease a muffin pan and set aside.

  2. In large mixing bowl combine popcorn, candy corn, and peanuts. Set aside.

  3. In saucepan melt butter over low heat. Stir in marshmallows, 4 drops of red food coloring and 3 drops of yellow food coloring, adjusting as needed until mixture is the desired shade of orange. Stir until marshmallows are completely melted.

  4. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn and stir evenly to distribute.

  5. Using a greased spoon, fill muffin cups with popcorn mixture. Insert a piece of licorice as a stem. Let stand until firm (apr. 10-15 minutes). Serve.
