Jack O'lantern Cookies recipe
Classic sugar cookies cut into festive Jack o' Lantern Shapes will brighten any holiday party or dinner. Kids will love rolling and cutting out the dough, making this simple and easy sugar cookie recipe perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 2 c. white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 5. cup all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- Jack 'o Lantern cookie cutters
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In large mixing bowl combine butter and sugar. Cream until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and combine until smooth.
In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly add flour mixture to egg mixture, mixing until just combined. Cover, and chill dough for at least 2 hours (or overnight.)
Roll out dough on floured surface until dough is 1/4" to 1/2 thick. Cut into shapes with cookie cutter and gently place cookies 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 6-8 minute sin preheated oven until just beginning to brown. Cool completely and decorate as desired.
